Totally Ecstatic Vibrations...
Fred Again.. & Thomas Bangalter USB002— Alexandra Palace, London. March 2026.
The last night of Fred Again..'s USB002 residency at Alexandra Palace — and for the final two hours, he wasn't alone. Thomas Bangalter, one half of Daft Punk and a figure who has spent much of the last decade deliberately stepping away from the dance floor, was back behind the decks. For anyone who understands what that means, no further justification was needed for being there.
The four-hour set built slowly through Fred's world before Bangalter arrived and the room shifted entirely. What followed was something closer to a séance than a DJ set — threads of Daft Punk pulled apart and rewoven, unexpected combinations that felt genuinely prepared and genuinely inspired, the kind of thing you don't get to witness often and may not again.
Strobes hitting silver halide in a dark room. The blur isn't a mistake — it's the confession. This is what ten thousand people feeling the same thing at the same moment looks like when the light can barely keep up. You don't bring film to a rave to remember it. You bring it because you want the night to leave a mark on something other than just you.
